HGV – Dampers
The vibration damper is a device that absorbs the vibrations generated by the driving shaft…
It is widely used in motorcars to prevent any discomfort, damage and failure due to vibrations.
It usually serves as a guide pulley for POLYV belts and to strengthen the auxiliary components (water pump, power steering, compressor, etc.).
The damper should be replaced when the rubber absorbing element is too worn to reduce the vibrations. It is recommended to check that the damper rubber ring is not too rigid (check that the rubber ageing does not cause excessive hardening, crystallisation or cracks).
