Back in May 1905, five entrepreneurs from Dayton Ohio were putting their final touches to their plans to establish the Dayton Rubber Company. They realized their dream on May 17 1905. Although the company first manufactured garden hose and rubber seals for canning jars, it was only a few years later, in 1908, when the company obtained the patent for the airless tyre. It was this approval that swept the Dayton Rubber Company into the automotive manufacturing revolution of the 20th Century. This DAYton COmpany, was to become DAYCO, a world leader in power transmission Belts and Components.
Just over 100 years on, Dayco is now a recognised leader in the automotive industry for both Original Equipment and Aftermarket applications.
